Coronavirus has had a limited impact on UK agricultural commodity prices.

Wheat prices have slipped globally as disruption to the global market increases and the latest prices in the latest Global Dairy Trade auction were down 10 per cent on the last sale of 2019.

Deadweight pig EU Spec pig price have hovered around the 162p/kg mark since January and liveweight cattle prices are also stable at between 185 and 190p/kg.

Lamb prices remain very strong and in recent sales liveweight prices have been 20 per cent higher than a year ago.

The relative stability of agricultural prices contrasts with that of oil and share prices.

At the beginning of this week, oil prices were nearly half what they were at the beginning of the year and the FTSE100 share index had dropped 20 per cent.
