Butchers appreciate personal contact
Mefa, the trade fair for meat industry and food production, is one of the oldest trade fairs in Switzerland. In order to create further synergies, the traditional butchery industry platform is now opening up to suppliers from the supply industry or manufacturing technology, to manufacturers and distributors of raw materials, semi-finished products and specialized products or to service companies. The cooks and restaurateurs of the parallel fair Igeho also benefit from this new, complete range of exhibitors.
The longest meat counter in Switzerland and other Mefa highlights
Mefa’s main attraction is undoubtedly the quality competition organized by the Swiss Meat Association (SFF). Over 500 award-winning meat products will be shown. The best apprentices at the Swiss championships prove what young meat industry experts can do after completing their training. The championship in plate laying, on the other hand, is open to everyone – whether young or old, layperson or professional. The most important meeting point within Mefa, however, is the Metzgerstübli, where there is a lively atmosphere thanks to live music until well after the fair closes. The menu includes delicacies such as the popular veal breast.
