Job Role:
To support the Health, Safety and Training Manager in the development and growth of ABP Langport`s already thriving production teams.

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
To report directly in to the Health, Safety and Training Manager, working alongside the Departmental Managers and Supervisors to advance our teams` development
To be involved in the on-boarding of new starters to ensure that they receive the best possible start in our business
To guide, and be a source of support for new starters through their initial few weeks with our business, ensuring that they never feel disoriented or uneasy
To be an on-the-job mentor and trainer to new and existing employees, to ensure that production teams are continuously learning and developing into the best teams in the business
To carry out job observations against SOPs, working with the Health, Safety and Training Manager and Departmental Managers to develop more efficient and safer ways of working, using Operative ideas for improvement where appropriate
To assess the training needs of new and existing employees
To work in conjunction with the Health, Safety and Training Manager and Departmental Managers to map out training plans for individuals to ensure they reach their highest potential
To ensure that training is delivered to the required standard in line with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and monitor post-training to eliminate bad habits and alternative methods out of scope
To maintain employee training records and departmental training matrix
To ensure that job rotation plans are produced and adhered to
General administration duties and record keeping
To promote the Company`s values and behaviours throughout the department.

 

Knowledge and Experience:
Demonstrable experience and knowledge gained within a beef abattoir of at least 70% of jobs
Administration skills and a working knowledge of MS Excel (training will be given)
Be a good communicator, organiser and planner
Be approachable and able to motivate individuals and teams
Level 3 Food safety certificate – desirable
Experience of training and/or coaching employees in a manual skills based environment
