REPORTING TO: Head of Business Development

 

Note: the role will have a dotted line to the National Account Manager on areas relating to those national accounts

 

MAIN PURPOSE / PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF ROLE:

Responsible for working executing the brand and account plans to develop and grow Kepak’s Foodservice business in by maximising awareness of the taste, quality and versatility of the range and executing sales plans through our strategic distribution partners.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities associated with this role include, but are not limited to the following:

 

Business Development

  • Actively pursue sales leads through emails, phone, face-to-face or virtual meetings, brand events/ trade shows
  • End- Use Operators: Cooking up Big Al’s products for key operators and target key accounts
  • Channel development: Working with key distributor sales teams to execute Kepak plans in focus channels
  • Be an ambassador for your customers within Kepak business, complete understanding of their strategy, needs and requirements
  • Channel reporting: understanding of the key drivers behind channel performance – circulating weekly and monthly sales out reports

 

Key Account Support

  • Support in the planning and activation of trade events
  • Support in the execution of Account JBPs, taking responsibility for the delivery of specific workstreams within the annual plan
  • Working cross functionally on price, promotion files, forecast documents and credit & risk management
  • Supporting the Account lead in the development of the Account strategy

 

Key Deliverables

  • Develop a strong pipeline of opportunities and track success and delivery on Salesforce and ex-factory sales reports
  • End-user cook ups of Big Al’s products converted to tangible sales
  • Price and promotional files fully up to date and submitted to customer
  • Internal comms: weekly reports including Salesforce submitted on time
  • Developing strong trading relationships
  • All planned marketing and NPD activities executed to the highest standard

 

Skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Powerpoint, etc.)
  • Demonstrating strong oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent internal and external relationship building
  • Selling & negotiating

 

Candidate Profile

  • Minimum of 2 – 3 year’s experience in an account management/ business development role, ideally in the foodservice sector
  • Ability to work independently on own initiative and cross-functionally as part of a team
  • Hunger to acquire new customers while keeping the long term interests of the business in mind
  • Operate with high level of enthusiasm, creativity, and effectiveness in all aspects of the role
  • Adaptable & flexible
  • Attention to detail
  • Results and solutions orientated, shows strong ownership of their area
  • Driven and a proven track record in identifying growth opportunities
  • Passion for food and foodservice
  • Ability to prioritise and manage their time

 

Location: East Midlands & Central England (Birmingham) flexible

Note: as with all positions, due to the nature of the business, key responsibilities will evolve and change over time.  Travel within the UK will be necessary along with possible international travel.
