We require an experienced butchery manager to manage Thomas Joseph Butchery.

Hours:

Wed – 8-5.30

Thurs – 8-5.30

Fri – 8-5.30

Sat – 8-5.30

Sun – 10-4

Responsibilities:

– manage the shop and staff efficiently

– keep the shop in line with standards in the food industry

– keep on top of the display window and report back to the owner regarding stock

– organise the chillers effectively and rotate stock

– ensure meat is prepared every day for the counter and our online businesses

– ensure that we do not run out of sundries, ingredients and other essentials

– serve customers, take cash/card payments

– beginning and end of day cleaning, prep work

– general responsibilities present in the management of any butchery

– be prepared to roll up their sleeves and get on with whatever tasks are required during the day

– be happy to work additional hours if need be during busy periods

We are looking for a quick thinker and proactive individual who can take responsibility well and deal with staff and customers efficiently. Our butchery has a bespoke ethos and the candidate will need to be interested in the specific way in that we source, age and sell our meat products. The butchery is situated on Coxtie Green Farm (that we also run) and the right candidate will be interested in the process from farm to fork that we are part of.

Salary: £25,000.00 to £32,000.00 /year
