Job Title: Butchery Manager

Job Purpose:  Reporting to the Food Service Manager the Retail Butchery Manager will be responsible for the day to day running of our Food Service Department and ensure it always operates efficiently and effectively.

Provide our customers with excellent quality products and services. Communicate to team any range changes, offers or new specifications/initiatives.

Skills: The ideal candidate will have/be:

  • 5 years` experience in a Managers role
  • 5 years` experience as a Craft Butcher with excellent knife skills and a creative flare
  • Knowledge of HACCP & food safety regulations
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
  • Written & Numerical skills
  • Experience in gross profit and margins is desirable
  • Creative
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to engage with and prioritise customer needs
  • Strong attention to detail, organised and flexible
  • Ability to use own initiative and work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Maintain retail cuts at a high standard in accordance with customer specification
  • Responsible for yields and waste management
  • Ensure labour costs are on budget
  • Ensure all staff reporting to you are competent in any duties required and are given adequate training relevant to their tasks
  • Work closely with Technical team to ensure compliance is always maintained
  • Responsible for food safety standards
  • Drive sales through KPI reports, financial reports, brand initiatives, customer initiatives and employee knowledge
  • Adhere to weekly stocktaking procedures
  • Attend and engage in weekly management meetings and bring learnings and builds back to the team

  • Monday to Friday
