JOB TITLE: Hygiene Manager
DEPARTMENT: Hygiene
REPORTS TO : Site Manager
DIVISION: Kepak Meat Division
LOCATION: Covering both Clonee, Dublin and Cork sites

 

  1. Job Purpose

To manage the Hygiene Department ensuring that the Company complies with all relevant legislation.

Ensure hygiene  standards and targets of cleanliness are achieved and continuously improved. To support the production process through the continuous monitoring of  hygiene standards of the plant, machinery and grounds. Local site procedures to be adhered to. Be able to identify opportunities to improve the function and reduce costs whilst ensuring full conformity.

  1. Role Key Accountabilities Added Value
  • Hygiene equipment management and maintenance
  • Planning hygiene schedules – ensuring the site is maintained to the required standard
  • Effective rostering management – work scheduling of team – full task completion
  • Training/Development – ensure site team is fully trained
  • Performance Management – responsible for team performance
  • Health and Safety – promote safety in workplace and comply with legislation
  • Continuous improvements projects – actively involved and promote new ideas
  • Recruitment – responsible for maintaining staffing levels
  • Management of periodic and high-level cleaning activities in conjunction with the onsite Maintenance department
  • Cleaning procedures and methodology, chemical assessments and verification checks
  • Liaise with chemical provider, chemical stock management and chemical ordering

 

  1. Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • Previous management experience essential and must have strong team building skills
  • Experience within a Hygiene Department in the food industry preferred
  • Strong leadership qualities and effective methods of communication
  • Awareness of employment law
  • Chemical application, storage and safety controls
  • HACCP
  • COSHH essential
  • Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
  • Food Safety Certificate
  • IOSH/NEBOSH or other relevant safety qualification
  • Degree relevant for position

  • Key Working Relationships: Site Management Team, Technical, Maintenance, Operations, Contractors and Chemical Providers
  1. Core Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s)
  • Cleaning schedule adherence including periodic scheduling
  • Training and Safety metrics
  • Hygiene associated downtime
  • Environmental cleaning assessments
  • Hygiene visual cleaning assessments
