The Kepak Group are looking to recruit the right person for a permanent Knife Worker role to cover our manufacturing facility in McCarren Meats in Cavan. McCarren Meats Unlimited Company is probably the oldest traditional pig slaughtering, processing and bacon curing company in Ireland.

Reports to: Line or Abattoir Supervisor

Main Responsibilities:

Working as part of the boning hall or abattoir team. Abattoir work will involve specialised slaughtering tasks, cutting meat, weighing, packing, cleaning etc. Boning Hall work involves produce of cuts and trims of meat to Kepak specification and at line speed.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED FOR THIS ROLE:

 

  • Previous experience working in an abattoir or boning hall is a distinct advantage, training will be provided.

 

 

KEY SKILLS / ATTRIBUTES / CORE COMPETENCIES:

 

  • Passion to work in the food industry
  • Written and spoken English fluency
