Delivering business success through our people

We are offering an exciting opportunity to work within the Lamb Procurement team based in Narberth, Pembrokeshire. We procure lambs direct from farms in Wales and the South West of England for our customer. You will have the opportunity to be involved in all aspects of lamb procurement working closely with the Lamb Supply Chain Manager and other members of the team. The role will be challenging and varied, from taking the lead on on-farm trials and organising knowledge transfer events for producers, to planning lamb supplies for our processing operation and because of our unique producer group you will have the opportunity to visit farms with our fields team.  You will also have the opportunity to be involved in other innovative projects that we are developing (or have underway) in conjunction with research facilities and genetic breeding companies and as such you will be actively involved in the entire lamb supply chain from the farms right through to the retail customer. We work closely with other protein supply chains and you will have the chance to interact with these and have cross-sector learnings/joint projects.  There will be the opportunity to meet with our retail customer, presenting to them, attending meetings and other stakeholder events.

What we are looking for:

The role would suit a recent graduate.  You must be degree qualified in an agricultural or animal science- based discipline or equivalent, with a real knowledge and passion for the sheep industry. You will also have a strong commercial acumen, with first class organisational and communication skills and the ability to build effective business relationships with farmers and customers alike.  A full driver’s licence along with excellent excel and word skills, you will have both an analytical approach and the ability to produce reports and deliver presentations.
