Are you interested in joining our team? A vacancy has arisen for the position of Production Planner. The successful candidate will take responsibility for planning production across a large supplier base to ensure that customer demands are met and stock levels maintained. The ability to work well under pressure and communicate with the sales team and Shop floor line manager is essential, as is the ability to maintain accurate information in Excel.

his position is all about finding the right person with the right level of commitment. Training will be given as required however experience in a similar role is required in order to hit the ground running.

General objectives of the position

1. To ensure that planning production meets customer demands – involving regular stock checks, ensuring all company policies are adhered to in terms of sourcing, seasonal changes and regional requirements.

2. Produce a daily ‘cut sheet’ taking into account sales orders stock levels and customer order requirements

3. To set up, monitor and plan ahead to ensure raw materials meet planned promotions through accurate forecasting

4. Monitoring the usage of raw materials each day against the standard usage determined from the production forecasts

5. To liaise closely with key stakeholders including Procurement, Commercial team, Plant Manager, Production line managers and Logistics – ensuring all parties are kept up to date with potential issues

6. Liaise directly with suppliers where necessary – ensuring good lines of communication are upheld

7. To work closely with stock control ensuring 100% accuracy of all information for end of week accounts

8. Lead daily stock meetings with sales team

9. Responsible for preparation and accuracy of daily yield analysis for senior management team

10. Creating accurate timely KPI reports on a daily basis

11. To ensure all spreadsheets are filled in accurately and kept up to date

12. To be able to offer cover for the Production Administrator

Experience & Profile

1. Previous experience in a similar role is required

2. Experience within the food industry is preferred

3. Excellent Excel knowledge

4. High level of communication skills, both written and oral

5. Ability to think on their feet and solve problems

6. Excellent organisational skills including the ability to multi task

7. Preference will be given to candidates with a short notice period in their current position
