The Wellington Farm Shop and Café part of the Wellington Estate situated on the Hampshire/Berkshire Border and home to the Duke of Wellington is looking for a new Butcher to take this successful business to the next level.

Having been open for 15 years and recently completed a beautiful re-furbishment, the business has grown organically with a view to sourcing fantastic local food and creating a friendly and personable shopping experience for the customer. It is now known as a hub for the foodie residents of our county – bringing quality and diversity to the area.

With over 5000 sq ft of retail space, a 90 seater cafe and additional outbuildings the opportunities for diversification and growth are endless.

The Butchery department sells a wide range of products including Beef from the Estate’s own Hereford herd and pork, poultry and lamb from local farmers. Our Award winning sausages are all made in house and each member of staff is highly trained to discuss with customers cooking methods and portion sizes. We take pride in the quality of the meat sold and its competitive price.

Duties to include: day to day butchery, working to budgets, cutting carcasses, making sausages, product development and merchandising.

This is an exciting opportunity for a talented and driven candidate to be creative with a successful business.

The candidate needs to show the following strengths:

Experience from carcass breakdown to counter ready product
Great with Customers
Understanding and experience of working to budgets
Experience in merchandising/display and controlling waste
Attention to detail and pride in your work
Ambitious, hardworking and enthusiastic

The salary will be determined by experience
