Mike Sheldon reappointed as chair of AHDB Pork
Mike Sheldon has been reappointed by UK Ministers for a second term as chair of AHDB’s pork sector board.
Mr Sheldon, who was first appointed to the role in April 2017, will now continue in it, alongside sitting on the main AHDB Board, for another two years, ending April 9, 2022.
He said: “As the pig industry in the UK continues to adjust to new market environments in the wake of both Brexit and COVID-19, I am proud to be able to continue working with AHDB to deliver a difference to the farming sector at this time.”
AHDB sector strategy director for pork, Angela Christison, said: “We are delighted that Mike has been appointed for a second term.
“This will ensure continuity in our work to support the reputation of British pork here and overseas. In doing so, we can optimise the value of each part of the pig and, so too, the returns to producers.”
This appointment was made by Defra Secretary George Eustice and Ministers in the Scottish Government and Welsh Government and Northern Ireland Executive.
