Sources are reporting that advisers for the Teys family and Cargill are putting the finishing touches on a deal to sell their Australian abattoir business to Brazil’s Minerva S.A. (BOVESPA:BEEF3).

It is one of the largest abattoir operations in the country and the asking price is understood to be about $1.5 billion.

DataRoom reported last year that Brazil’s second-largest meat company, Minerva, had been in talks about an acquisition.

Now the chatter in the market is that the two parties are just sorting out the complexities surrounding the contract.
