Former M&S food boss joins Farmison as chief executive
Just 50 days after coming under new ownership, online meat retailer Farmison & Co has appointed a chief executive and established a partnership with delivery service Gopuff.
The retailer was acquired back in April by a consortium led by former Asda chief executive Andy Clarke and Chilli Marketing executives Gareth Whittle, Christian Barton and Kieron Barton.
Farmison’s new chief executive, Andy Adcock, has worked for almost twenty years in food and trading roles, including for both Marks & Spencer and Asda, so will bring significant experience of food retailing to the business.
The retailer has also recruited over 40 team members at its Ripon base in North Yorkshire and is planning to increase the number of roles to 55 by the autumn.
Meanwhile Farmison is making 12 core products, including bacon, sausages chicken and steaks, available for 15 minute delivery in Gopuff’s London delivery area.
Clarke, who is now Farmison’s executive chairman, said: “We’ve made incredible progress over the last 50 days. And while there’s still plenty of work to do, our objective is to make sure Farmison comes back stronger than before. That’s why we’re investing in new ranges, enhanced service and new partnerships that bring more access to the incredible meat we offer.
