Role Definition:

  • Responsible for the production line and its team, ensuring that finished / raw products are controlled and recorded against customer / supplier orders and company procedures are followed.

Key responsibilities:

  • Input of correct data into lean driver reaching targets of: OEE-55%, Quality-98%, Performance-80%, Availability-70%.
  • Understand the production orders/dispatch customer orders for the shift and what products you will be working with, and quantity/quality of specification to achieve that staff.
  • Where applicable, understand the importance of and ensure you consistently achieve these targets.
  • Understand the product specification for quality and presentation and ensure that you consistently achieve these standards.
  • Understand your responsibility for accounting for all stock accurately, record all products that move in and out of your area on the required paperwork.
  • Ensure KPI targets are met; OEE, giveaways, yield, blending, PPk and GMP. Assist the team achieve the targets, yields, specifications and quality standards by performing your tasks with attention to detail and handling meat carefully and following all pictorial presentation standards.
  • When handling primals/customer orders/meat packs/boxes, ensure all products and items are labelled, in date, and meet the customer required specification.
  • Keep your work area clean. Adopt a clean as you go culture, report any health & safety, food hygiene or quality issues to your line Manager immediately.
  • Use, clean and maintain the working order of all machinery, and report any faults to your line manager.
  • Adhere to all health & safety and food hygiene standards at all times.
  • To have full knowledge of primal identification and communicate any information relevant to the Butchery line leader.
  • When lifting any objects maintain the product quality by lifting and handling crates correctly within the manual handling techniques you have been trained on.
  • To decorate, butcher, pack and present meat to the required customer specifications and ensure quality is maintained at all times.
  • Ensure all staff are trained to the company’s best practice policy and ensure that individual development needs are regularly monitored on your line.
  • Attend appropriate team meetings as required by manager/supervisor. SIC meetings are priority.
  • To control and manage the plan given by your supervisor or manager.
  • To minimise wastage, for example water use or packaging or over trimming.
  • Coach and mentor team members by mentoring and also coaching staff to a higher performance level, inclusive of set targets/KPI’s, training and succession.
  • Other reasonable tasks as instructed by your manager.
