Position Purpose Statement
To assist with the slaughter and processing of cattle by carrying out duties on a production line.
Key Responsibilities, Tasks and Activities
§ Safely and efficiently follow the line process the animal to specification using machinery, equipment and knife skills.
§ Achieve throughput, maximise yields, minimise waste, and ensure quality standards are maintained.
§ Maintain an in-depth knowledge of carcass dressing specifications.
Knife skills would be advantageous but not essential
§ Remove contamination and defects from carcass.
§ Maintain a sharp and sterile knife.
§ Movement of product around the department.
§ Ensure all relevant records and paperwork are maintained accurately.
