The Role
The role aims to deliver top-tier technical management for Sofina Foods Malton. This involves leading the Primary Technical team and guiding the Primary Operational Team on-site. The goal is to develop and implement effective processes and practices, ensuring that products are manufactured in compliance with both legal and customer food safety and quality standards through rigorous verification.

Key Accountabilities
- Oversee the Technical function for the Primary side of the factory to uphold and improve food safety standards.
- Develop positive relationships with customers and external agencies, seeking opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Ensure technical systems are robust to support business changes and maintain industry-leading standards.
- Keep the site always ready for audits from customers and authorities.
- Implement monitoring and auditing systems for due diligence and compliance with legal and company standards.
- Ensure supplier and product specifications meet customer requirements through effective communication and training.
- Sponsor the Skills Management System to provide feedback on quality standards.
- Educate managers on current and future standards to improve preparedness.
- Run development programs to enhance the Quality skillset within the management team.
- Lead the Quality team in root cause analysis to prevent quality issues.
- Communicate site-wide to emphasize the importance of quality.
Skills and Experience Required
- Solid experience with technical systems and standards and management within manufacturing.
- A Graduate of Food Science/Technology (or similar)
- Experience of working with Operations and Supply Chain Management, Logistic & Planning, Change Management, Project Management, Strategy development, Quality Assurance, Continuous Improvement (TPM etc.).
- Direct experience of change management at a senior level.
- Strong track record of successful team management.
- Experience of managing key capital projects as part of daily role.
