Role Overview:
Our site in Carlisle employs around 1200 people across 3 factories and produces a huge range of chilled food products for major UK retailers. It is a fast-paced business, offering plenty of variety where no two days are ever the same, and we are looking for a part-qualified Operations Accountant to join us.
- As a key part of the finance team, your key responsibilities will include:
- Evaluating and reporting on business performance through the provision and interpretation of management information (MI).
- Providing accurate reports on costs and working closely with the operations teams to analyse any issues, such as labour and material variances.
- Developing strong working relationships with managers and stakeholders, providing support and guidance to deliver cost improvements and help them meet their financial targets.
- Providing accurate cost of sales performance reporting and analysis.
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives, looking for opportunities to improve processes, systems, and reporting.
About you:
This is a great opportunity for a part qualified (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) accountant interested in furthering their career with a leading food business.
Experience of manufacturing would be ideal, but we’re open on background, and we are keen to hear from any accountants who are keen to learn and, in addition to strong financial and commercial acumen, have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence colleagues at levels.
