Shift Pattern: Rotating shifts

This is a practical, on-the-tools engineering role suited to someone who enjoys fault finding, problem solving, and supporting production in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. As a result, you will have a direct impact on uptime, safety, and site performance.


The Role

As a Mechanical / Electrical Engineer, you will work at the heart of the factory, responding to breakdowns and carrying out planned maintenance to keep plant and equipment operating reliably.

In addition, you will support continuous improvement through installations, upgrades, and general site maintenance. At the same time, you will maintain high standards of health and safety, hygiene, and compliance across all engineering activities.

Because this is a highly active, site-based role, flexibility and a hands-on approach are essential.


Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Respond quickly to breakdowns and restore production safely

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) to minimise downtime

  • Strip down, rebuild, repair, and fault-find machinery and site equipment

  • Work across mechanical systems including hydraulics, pneumatics, and steam, and/or electrical systems depending on experience

  • Support machinery installations, upgrades, minor fabrication, and general maintenance

  • Complete maintenance records and documentation accurately

  • Maintain high standards of health & safety, hygiene, and site compliance

As a result, your work will directly support production continuity and site efficiency.


Qualifications & Experience

Electrical Engineers

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment

  • Essential: Valid electrical qualifications, including 18th Edition (BS 7671 Wiring Regulations)

Mechanical Engineers

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment

  • Strong experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, steam, and general plant maintenance


Shift Pattern

This role operates on a rotating shift pattern:

  • Week 1: 06:00 – 14:00

  • Week 2: 13:55 – 21:55

  • 13 Saturdays per year
