Kepak McIntosh Donald in Portlethen, globally recognised brand and the largest red meat producer in Scotland, is seeking a passionate and driven Boning Hall Assistant Manager to join our dynamic team. As part of one of Europe’s leading meat processors, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our continued growth and success.
In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the Boning Hall Manager in delivering production targets, ensuring the safety and efficiency of the production line, and maintaining product quality. You will be responsible for all Boning Hall employees, ensuring consistency and compliance to boning, butchering, trimming and finishing requirements of red meat for sale and consumption.
We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about continuous improvement and waste reduction. You should be able to challenge the status quo, offer innovative solutions, and turn creative ideas into effective strategies. The ability to manage business costs and deliver projects through your team is crucial.
Requirements
- Significant knowledge and experience of meat production (preferably red meat), processing, and operations essential
- Animal Welfare, HACCP, NEBOSH or IOSH qualification desirable
- Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop people and teams to achieve established goals and improve department performance
- Commercial awareness and cost management skills essential
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good interpersonal, communication, and negotiating skills
- Capable of sound judgement and making production decisions quickly and whilst under pressure
- Commitment to good practice and leading by example
- Communicates well in written and oral form with multi-nationals on all levels
- Ability to multitask and work under own initiative to deliver to deadlines
- Relationship builder with influencing skills
- Excellent IT skills (particularly Excel)
