Senior Category Manager — Sofina Foods, Malton
Role overview
In this role, you will lead category thinking for major retail customers, using shopper insight, market data and strong commercial judgement to drive sustainable growth. From day one, you will turn insight into action, influence customer decisions and help position Sofina as a trusted, insight-led partner across the UK retail landscape.
Key responsibilities

Build trusted relationships with retail buying, category and range teams

Turn shopper, retailer and market data into clear narratives and growth opportunities

Lead category reviews and develop practical, actionable recommendations

Support annual category, innovation and brand planning cycles

Track performance and advise on corrective actions where required

Deliver reporting schedules, range reviews and NPD performance updates on time

Work closely with Marketing, NPD and Commercial teams to align category messaging

Contribute to wider Sofina projects across pricing, packaging and promotional analysis
What you’ll bring
You bring experience in category, commercial or insight-focused roles within FMCG or food. In addition, you feel confident working with shopper and market data tools such as Kantar, IRI or Nielsen. You communicate clearly, analyse effectively and translate complex data into simple actions. You also manage multiple priorities well and collaborate easily across teams.
Pay, benefits and location
This is a full-time, permanent role based onsite in Malton, North Yorkshire, with flexibility to travel to UK customers and sites as required. Sofina Foods offers a competitive salary plus car allowance, company bonus scheme, company pension scheme and enhanced sick pay. Working pattern is Monday to Friday.
