Kepak McIntosh Donald are looking for Yard & Stores Operative to join our team.
Working Hours: 40h/week, Monday to Friday, 6am (need to be flexible with finish time)
Pay Rate: £12.37 per hour.
Role Purpose
To support the operations and production teams by maintaining an organised and safe yard area, ensuring general upkeep of external factory/grounds/site areas.
Main duties and role requirements:
- Ensuring all delivery/collection vehicles are loaded/unloaded in an efficient and safe manner.
- Load containers with cattle hides and sheep skins.
- Ensure the yard is in a clean, tidy, and organised state at all times, being audit ready.
- Organise and stock check trays, packaging etc, working with Purchasing and Operations to maintain required stock levels.
- Deliver packaging to departments as required.
- Waste management including the transport of waste containers and proper disposal in accordance with procedures and policies.
- Liaising with third parties for waste collection.
- Clean and remove evidence of pest behaviour.
- Advise of any pest control risks and issues on site.
- Assist production colleagues when required, with tasks as instructed, i.e., lifting/moving items around yard and covering for production forklift drivers as required.
- Understanding and monitoring the traffic management system and working plan of the yard
- Support with Forklift maintenance program, reporting any forklift defects.
- Support animal by-product management by preparing the trailers with correct categorisation of by-products, arranging removal of trailers during periods of non-production or low production, arranging the rendering of by-products.
- Arrange hay and straw orders for lairage, maintaining weekly stock levels via Livestock Procurement.
- Monitoring identifying potential environmental hazards and appropriate corrective actions
- Any other duties as required by management and within the competency of the post holder.
