This is a skilled abattoir role suited to experienced slaughter operatives holding a valid licence and looking for long-term stability and progression.
The Role
As a Manufacturing Slaughter Operative (Fully Skilled), you will be multi-skilled across slaughter line tasks, preparing carcasses to specification while maintaining the highest standards of safety, hygiene, and efficiency.
You will work towards site objectives focused on quality, yield, and operational performance. Using knives or bladed machinery, you will carry out tasks efficiently to minimise waste and downtime while ensuring food safety standards are met at all times.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:

Carry out skilled slaughter line tasks to prepare carcasses

Use knives and bladed machinery safely and accurately

Maintain full compliance with food safety and hygiene standards

Follow health and safety procedures to protect yourself and colleagues

Work efficiently to reduce waste and production downtime

Maintain concentration and accuracy in a fast-paced environment
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who:

Has previous Halal butchery and knife skills experience
-
Holds a current and valid slaughter licence
-
Can maintain high standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Is able to follow detailed training, guidance, and instructions
-
Has strong focus, consistency, and attention to detail
Food Safety Level 2 is desirable, but training can be provided on site.
Working Environment
This role is based in an abattoir / slaughterhouse environment. You will be working with raw meat and carcasses in chilled conditions between 2°C and 9°C.
Full personal protective equipment is provided and must be worn at all times.
