Working Hours:
42 hours per week – 4 on /4 off rotating shift pattern
0600 – 1800 / 1800 – 0600
Purpose of the role:
As a Production Operative within the operational team, based at one our sites in Hereford, you’ll be responsible and accountable for the smooth operation of the production of feed and control room areas as well as cover the Shift Lead when required.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Handling/lifting of pre-mix bags averaging 25kg.
- To carry out instructions as given to you by your Team Leader/Management.
- Reporting of Pest Control.
- Daily completion of paperwork.
- Daily/weekly stock checks.
- Isolation of plant and machinery.
- To work as part of small team and adapt to business demands.
- Managing all day-to-day activities/responsibilities of the areas and people.
- Manage, train and develop teams/individuals to enhance their performance.
- Maintain and monitor quality assurance systems.
- Responsible for E, H & S management systems in the area
- To manage and control Contractors including permit control.
- To manage and control relevant workplace permits – confined space, hot work, Working at height.
- Ensure bins stock are accurate and managed to maximize operating cost and efficiently
- Operation of Feed Mill plant via computer
- Covering shift as and when required
What we are looking for:
- First aid – Desirable
- Fork Lift /CAT license – Desirable
- Good level of English and numeracy skills
- The ability to work well within a team and communicate effectively
- Good attention to detail and a flexible attitude to tasks
- Experience within a production/manufacturing environment is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided
