Role overview
You will be responsible for the ongoing training and development of skilled operatives across the site, from goods-in through to despatch, including yard staff. The role focuses on ensuring employees are trained, competent and compliant with company standards, customer specifications and legal requirements, while supporting quality, yield, safety and continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities

Deliver hands-on, on-the-job training across production and despatch areas

Ensure staff are signed off to company, customer and audit standards

Use training materials including SOPs, risk assessments and toolbox talks

Support onboarding and mentoring of new starters during initial weeks

Maintain training records, skills matrices and refresher schedules

Carry out job observations and refresher training

Support job rotation plans and skills development

Work closely with HSE, Training, Production and Technical teams

Assist with training for new equipment and capital projects

Maintain and develop work instructions and training materials

Support continuous improvement projects and standardisation

Maintain clear communication with managers to meet training targets
What you’ll bring
Have experience working in food processing or packaging operations and are confident training others in a chilled factory environment. You are organised, detail-focused and an excellent communicator. You have good presentation and facilitation skills, a proactive approach to health & safety and the ability to learn and implement new information quickly. Food Hygiene Level 3 is desirable. Competence in MS Office is required.
Pay, benefits and location
This is a permanent, full-time role based at ABP UK, Penston Road, Glasgow G33 4AG. Salary is negotiable and dependent on experience.
