Role Definition:
The Butchery Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring targets are met through effective leadership and management of people, processes, and equipment within the butchery department. This role requires a deep understanding of butchery operations, slicing and cutting equipment, and a commitment to delivering the highest standards of safety, quality, and performance.

Key Responsibilities
– Ensure targets are met and regularly reviewed
– Lead and support butchery teams, promoting accountability for team and line performance
– Operate and oversee slicing machinery and butchery equipment ensuring correct use
– Act as the first point of contact for performance issues and line breakdowns – proactively take decisions to mitigate downtime
-Maintain compliance with GMP, HACCP, and Health & Safety
– Ensure replenishment of raw materials and accurate reporting of usage and waste
– Drive efficiency through accurate setup, calibration, and timely use of equipment
-Collaborate across departments to ensure smooth production handovers and flow
– Lead by example in attendance, punctuality, work ethic, and communication
-Take ownership of your area and your people – responsibility lies with the supervisor, not the manager
– Ensure the right product is produced to the right standard, within agreed timelines and specifications
Person Specification
•Speaking, writing and understanding basic spoken and written English language. (This is an essential health & safety, traceability and quality control requirement)
•Basic numeracy skills
•Attentive to detail
•Quickly, cleanly and efficiently processing food items in production line team
•Working in a chilled environment
•Flexible, adaptable and keen to learn
•Learning and implementing new information quickly

•Accreditation Food Hygiene equivalent at minimum level 2
