Role: Assistant Retail Manager (Maternity)

Contract: Maternity cover, 1 year
Hours: 6:00am to 6:00pm, 38.5 Hours per week
Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday
Week 2: Wednesday and Thursday ONLY!

Our facilities combine traditional British butchery technique with some of the best technological prowess in the food sector.
A committed team of over 700 staff oversee the whole process: from procuring the best possible livestock from our carefully picked group of farms, through butchery, retail packaging and despatch before it finally arrives on the supermarket shelf or as part of the restaurant dining experience.
About you:
- Previous experience working within the food sector in a managerial capacity
- Experience of assisting preparation of both hot and cold meals
- Understanding of food hygiene
- A good work ethic
Role:
- Ensure efficient daily running of allocated production lines including set up, pre-operational checks and operation of machinery, in accordance with the production plan to ensure customer orders are met.
- Adopt a lean manufacturing approach to production to ensure maximum efficiency and yields are obtained.
- Motivate, coach and develop staff to work within expected production standards; efficiencies, hygiene and waste.
- Proactively assist with arranging cover for holidays and sickness.
- Manage employee rest breaks to ensure continuity of production..
- Promote a continuous improvement culture throughout all areas of responsibility by delivering improvement projects, using lean tools and techniques such as: ‘SQPDC’, 5’s and TPM.
- Ensure all work place accidents and near miss incidents are reported in line with company procedures.
- Ensure Return to Work Interviews have been completed by an authorised person before employees return to work on line.
