Pay: Dependant on experience, circa £12.71 to 13.08 per hour.

We are recruiting for a Lairage Operative to join an industry leader that provides opportunities for training and progression to the right candidates. You will be working in the lairage of a meat processing plant in one of Europe’s leading food companies; suppliers of choice to a range of leading local, national and international supermarket, foodservice and manufacturing businesses exporting to over 50 countries worldwide.

The primary role of the Lairage Operative is to handle the movement of livestock from unloading through the lairage to slaughter whilst ensuring Animal Welfare Standards at all times.

The role involves (but is not limited to):

To ensure that all deliveries are counted, and discrepancies raised.
To ensure that all required paperwork is completed and correct.
To ensure that the deliveries are penned correctly.
To ensure the animals are approved as fit for slaughter by the site vet.
To ensure that lairage is kept clean and tidy.
Ensure all water troughs are in working order and adequate feed is provided for animals overnight.
Conduct Animal Transportation Audits.
