We have a vacancy at our Kingswinford site for a Waste Water Treatment Plant Operative. You will be working as part of the Environmental team to ensure the needs of the business are met in a timely and effective manner according to the specification. You will be part of a fast paced, proactive team responsible for looking after the Wastewater Treatment Plant.
The role involves:
•To ensure the site effluent treatment plant and associated equipment is operated to its maximum efficiency and within West Midlands water consent levels, including discharge monitoring
•To carry out regular cleaning of the effluent treatment plant, associated equipment and surrounding yard areas as detailed in site SOP’s, including pre-start checks
•Carry out regular testing of effluent discharge water to ensure discharge limits are within consent levels as per site SOP’s and WWTP operating Guide
•Ensure all external areas of responsibility are maintained to ABP standard to include cleaning of the bund and tanks, all yard area adjacent to the WWTP
•Ensure surface water monitoring points (SWMP) are checked daily
•Drainage system is kept operational and unblock drains in the yard
•Assist yard team with site waste collection and recycling activates, unloading of deliveries when required (forklift training/license can be given)
•Carry out all the basic maintenance in the WWTP (training will be given) and assist the Engineering team with maintenance and repairs when required.
