Premier Meat Exhibition cancelled due to coronavirus
This year’s Premier Meat Exhibition has been cancelled due to Covid-19 restrictions.
The event’s organisers, the Scottish National Fat Stock Club (SNFSC), said allowing the competition to go ahead would add “unnecessary risks” to everyone involved.
The event had been due to take place on November 11 and 14.
SNFSC secretary Margaret Gray said: “Although this great competition is another event to be cancelled due to Covid-19, the Scottish National Fat Stock Club, Scotbeef and Marks and Spencer look forward to making next year’s Premier Meat Exhibition one to remember.”
The news follows an announcement last week by the club that it intends to go ahead with this year’s LiveScot event on November 28, but at a reduced capacity.
LiveScot, which is held at the Lanark Agricultural Centre, will only feature an exhibition of prime cattle and sheep in their pens, followed by a sale of the animals.
