A highly capable and commercially aware candidate with end-to-end experience in the UK livestock and meat supply chain. This person has reared and finished up to 5,000 lambs and 1,250 beef cattle annually, with a strong focus on livestock selection, grading, welfare, and food chain integrity.

With practical knowledge gained from a mixed family farm and a major UK slaughterhouse, they bring valuable insight into animal husbandry, carcass quality, and abattoir operations, alongside hands-on experience purchasing livestock directly from farms and markets.

Key skills & qualifications:

• Livestock selection & grading for meat quality

• Procurement from livestock markets and farm gate

• Level 2 Livestock Transport Certificate

• Animal Welfare at Slaughter

• Red Tractor / Assured Food Standards knowledge

• Abattoir operations & carcass processing understanding

Preferred role: Livestock Buyer (field-based or procurement-focused)
Notice period: 3 months
Availability: Open to UK or European roles
