Abattoir Operative
Monday to Friday, 07:30 – 16:00 – with daily overtime required / until production finished
40hrs contract

Cranswick is a leading UK food producer with revenue approaching £2 Billion. We produce and supply premium food to high profile UK grocery retailers, the food service sector and other UK and global customers.
Successful candidates will play a key part in the production process, rotating around several different tasks within the department. We welcome applications from experienced slaughter operatives and knife holders.
Main Duties Include (but not limited to):
- To assist abattoir supervisors in ensuring smooth running of day-to-day operations
- Ensure each product specification is followed and any anomalies reported
- Work towards department targets
- Always maintain product safety and quality standards
- Maintain clean and tidy work area
What We Look For:
- Knife skills (highly desirable)
- Previous experience working in food production / manufacturing / butchery
- Factory / warehouse / labouring / chef experience also considered
- Willingness to learn all aspects of the role through training
- Strong work ethic
- Team player
- Attention to detail
- Physical stamina
- Recognise health and safety and animal welfare as a top priority
