We are looking to recruit a full-time trainer for our Boning Hall. The trainer will work closely with their production teams and site training co-ordinator, providing a structured and progressive approach to training and development across the site. This position will provide a great opportunity for someone who is looking to develop not only themselves but others across the business.
What to expect in the job?
- To support new employees from induction to the completion of the departmental training program
- To create new standard operating procedures (SOPs) and review existing SOPs
- To continually look to improve ways of working and processes throughout the department
- To provide basic training for all new departmental employees by following a 12-week induction training program
- To review all new employees progress throughout their basic training
- Maintain and update the departmental skills training matrix
- Identify skills gaps within the department
- Deliver training to close identified skills gaps
- Support the delivery of compliance training
- Support the delivery of compliance refresher training
- Ensure a clear understanding of how PPE is worn correctly throughout the department and advise those they see not complying how to do so correctly
- To support and promote the health & safety culture on site
Requirements
What we need from you?
- Departmental knowledge such as knife skill and cuts of meat is essential.
- Ability to deliver 1-1 training in a clear, structured, and supportive manner.
- Ability to demonstrate good communication skills such as listening and questioning techniques to evaluate the trainee’s knowledge and understanding of the task being trained.
- Proficient level of written and spoken English.
- Willingness to undergo courses such as train the trainer, manual handling, first aid and fire warden.
