2 Sisters Food Group is recruiting a Butchery Assessor to join its world-class Cutting team at the Scunthorpe site. This full-time, permanent role is advertised via the Meatex Jobs Board.
2 Sisters Food Group is one of the UK’s largest food manufacturers and a major employer in North Lincolnshire. The Scunthorpe site is a high-volume, whole-bird poultry processing facility, producing over 2 million birds per week, with a strong focus on quality, efficiency, people development and long-term careers.
This role is ideal for an experienced butchery or meat processing operative with strong attention to detail who is looking to step into a more technical, assessment-focused position.

Salary & hours
£14.00 per hour
£16.80 per hour (Saturday rate)
Rotating 2-week shift pattern:

Week 1: Monday–Saturday, 06:00–14:30

Week 2: Monday–Friday, 14:30–23:00
Role purpose
As Butchery Assessor, you will be responsible for assessing the performance and capability of employees working on filleting lines within the butchery department.
You will collate assessment data for management review, support performance management processes and help maintain and improve butchery standards, yields and compliance across the department.
Key responsibilities

Assess butchers against the departmental competency matrix

Review assessment results and communicate findings to butchery management

Provide clear, constructive feedback to employees

Maintain accurate and up-to-date assessment logs and records

Support the butchery performance management system alongside HR and agency partners

Ensure strict adherence to Health & Safety and Food Hygiene standards

Follow standard operating procedures at all times

Work collaboratively as part of the wider cutting and management team
What we’re looking for

Strong understanding of butchery processes, yields and associated costs

Hands-on experience performing butchery tasks

Experience working in a fast-paced, unionised food manufacturing environment

Confident communicator with the ability to influence and challenge constructively

Ability to work independently and manage own workload
