Are you an experienced Butcher looking for a unique opportunity to operate your business without the financial risk? Booker Wholesale is seeking a Butchery Manager who demonstrates strong skills and motivation to join our team in Oxford. As a Butchery Manager, you will have the chance to develop your own business, collaborate closely with customers, and deliver exceptional service in a world-class retail environment.
Main Responsibilities

- Develop and implement a business plan to drive sales and profitability in the Butchery Department.
- Build strong relationships with customers, understanding their needs and providing expert advice.
- Maintain high standards, including stock management, food safety procedures, and meat displays.
- Lead and motivate a small team, creating staff rotas and fostering a positive work environment.
- Cut meat to order, ensuring precision and quality
- Manage stock levels effectively, including ordering and stocktaking
- Maintain and clean tools and equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Manage waste to reduce expenses and enhance operational effectiveness
- Proven experience as a Butcher, with excellent product knowledge of all meat proteins
- Self-motivated and driven to succeed, with a passion for providing exceptional customer service
- Strong organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to effectively manage a small team
- Familiarity with food safety procedures and recommended guidelines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with customers
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends.
