This is a commercially focused marketing role offering strong exposure to UK grocery retail customers, category strategy and cross-functional collaboration.

The Role
As Category Marketing Manager, you will work closely with some of the UK’s largest grocery retailers to identify, develop and deliver category growth opportunities.
You will use data-led insight, market understanding and strong cross-functional collaboration to support ranging, pricing, promotions, NPD and marketing activity across retail customers.
This role combines analytical thinking with practical execution and regular customer and store engagement.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:

Work with major UK grocery retailers to identify category growth opportunities

Deliver category insight and make recommendations to support customer category strategies

Support activities including ranging, merchandising, pricing, promotions, NPD and marketing

Monitor industry and market sources to gather consumer and shopper insights

Analyse sales and market data to understand shopping behaviour and trends

Provide category guidance to NPD, technical and commercial teams
-
Research competitor activity through store visits, price tracking, promotions and NPD launches

Develop and implement campaigns aligned to business priorities

Build strong internal and external relationships to maximise commercial opportunities

Travel to customer sites, retail stores and Dunbia locations as required
Skills & Experience Required
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

A relevant degree in marketing or a business-related discipline

A genuine passion for food and retail markets

Strong financial understanding and commercial acumen

Excellent time management and organisational skills

Strong communication and interpersonal abilities

Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and PowerPoint

Strong analytical and problem-solving capability

Ability to work independently and on own initiative

Excellent attention to detail

Ability to adapt in a fast-paced, competitive environment
Experience in a commercial, market insight or analytical role is desirable.
Experience using data provider or market insight software is also beneficial.
