This role offers a senior opportunity to oversee site-level commercial operations while driving revenue growth and strengthening key customer and partner relationships. As a result, you will play a central role in delivering strong commercial returns across the business.
The Role
As Commercial Manager, you will lead the site’s commercial activities while working closely with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders. You will balance strategic planning with hands-on delivery to ensure quality, quantity, and profitability targets are met.
In addition, you will collaborate across divisional lines, including Sausage, Bacon, and Cooked Meats, to support joined-up commercial decision-making. At the same time, you will maintain a visible presence on the factory floor to encourage best commercial outcomes.
Because this is a senior role, strong leadership and commercial judgement are essential.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:

Manage high-profile external commercial accounts

Drive sites to deliver agreed quality and volumes for customers

Ensure payment terms and credit limits are agreed, documented, and monitored

Provide commercial input across Sausage, Bacon, and Cooked Meats divisions

Complete trading data, records, and files accurately and on time
-
Attend trading, planning, and financial meetings as required
-
Provide pricing, costings, and commercial insight to support decision-making
-
Work closely with operational managers to identify best commercial returns
-
Visit customers and suppliers to strengthen relationships and increase value

Support delivery of site and group financial budgets
-
Manage site cold store stocks in line with group financial and technical requirements
-
Investigate discrepancies and produce reports when required
-
Deliver agreed KPIs and always act in the best interests of Cranswick PLC
As a result, your work will directly influence profitability, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
The Ideal Candidate
You will be commercially astute, self-motivated, and confident operating at a senior level.
Importantly, you will bring:

Previous experience within a meat processing business (highly desirable)

Strong commercial acumen and analytical capability

The ability to work on your own initiative

Proven leadership skills

Flexibility to travel to customers and internal business units

Clear communication and stakeholder management skills
