ASDA – Commercial Manager

Home based role – 1 – 2 days a week in Leeds.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Due to an internal promotion, an exciting opportunity has arisen for you to join the Commercial team within our Poultry and Value Added Divisions. As Commercial Manager you will be responsible for the development of one of our largest accounts.

This offers an excellent opportunity for someone to be part of one of our fastest growing and what has the potential to be the most strategic account in 2SFG. The business now supply 50% of the accounts primary chicken and has further growth forecasted. This has grown the P&L too £300m.

Due to its size and potential, you’ll get exposure you would not get at other businesses and a Line Manager that wants people to be trying to progress to “bigger & better” things in the business.

You will use market data to support commercial arguments to deliver objectives by working closely with the Category and Sales teams. You will be the main point of contact with the retail account, spending time with their team to build a deep understanding of their needs and opportunities. This is a key role to the business as you will be involved in commercial negotiations, delivering agreed business plans and building relationships with key decision makers within the account.

Some responsibilities include:

  • Deliver budgeted commercial targets.
  • Building strong, collaborative, and progressive relationships across customer & internal functions.
  • Deliver results through sound planning, process, discipline and focus on execution.
  • As part of the commercial team support and drive the wider commercial strategy and functional development plans.
  • Continue to deliver excellent growth on the ASDA account – we are category champion but need to stay ahead of the game and continue to deliver excellence.

  • Proven track record in the management and delivery of commercial negotiations
  • Experience within a Food Manufacturer with a Major Retail focus.
  • Ambitious to grow & develop your career.
  • Strong communication skills, quality focused and commercially minded.
  • Excellent attention to detail, able to interpret data to deliver meaningful solutions
  • Experience of delivering projects which work towards the overall strategy
  • Work on own initiative, is flexible, positive and confident
