An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Commercial / Trading Manager to join a leading global food business in Huntingdon.

This key role focuses on developing and growing sales across imported chilled and frozen Beef and Lamb categories, building strong customer and supplier relationships, and expanding into new markets and supply chains.

Working within a dynamic global PLC environment, you’ll collaborate with Operations, Technical, Category, Planning, and Commercial teams to deliver outstanding results and long-term growth.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow customer and supplier relationships to drive category development and sales performance.

  • Develop and execute long-term strategic plans with key accounts and partners.

  • Lead new product development (NPD) aligned with market trends and consumer needs.

  • Work closely with Marketing and Commercial teams to shape strategy and support account expansion.

  • Identify and develop new supply chains across global markets.

  • Manage account administration, including budgeting, costing, forecasting, and reporting.

  • Analyse sales data to identify opportunities and mitigate risks.

  • Lead customer and supplier meetings, presentations, and site visits as required.


Skills & Experience Required

  • Proven commercial management experience in food or FMCG sectors.

  • Strong customer and supplier relationship management skills.

  • Knowledge of imported chilled and frozen Beef & Lamb markets (Australia, New Zealand, South America).

  • Understanding of UK market sectors – Manufacturing, Wholesale, Retail, and Foodservice.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.

  • Strong analytical ability and strategic mindset.

  • Proficient in account management systems, budgeting, and forecasting.

  • Team leadership experience and a track record of driving performance.

  • Full driving licence and willingness to travel internationally.
