A Customer Marketing Insight Executive opportunity is available with a successful UK food manufacturing business, supporting one of the UK’s leading grocery retailers. This role is advertised via the Meatex Jobs Board and is based in Preston, reporting into the site commercial team.
This position offers hands-on exposure to category strategy, customer insight and commercial decision-making in a fast-paced FMCG environment. As a result, it is ideal for someone looking to build a long-term career in customer marketing, category or commercial roles.
Role overview
In this role, you will work closely with a major UK grocery retailer to identify growth opportunities across ranging, merchandising, pricing, promotions, NPD and marketing activity. From day one, you will analyse data, generate insight and support the development of customer strategies that drive sustainable growth.
Key responsibilities

Work with a major UK grocery retailer to identify and develop growth opportunities

Deliver category insights and recommendations to support customer strategy

Analyse sales, EPOS and market data to understand shopper behaviour and trends

Monitor industry and market sources to capture consumer insight

Support ranging, merchandising, pricing, promotion and NPD activity

Collaborate with commercial, NPD and technical teams to align priorities

Provide category expertise and insight to internal stakeholders

Track competitor activity through store visits, price checks, promotions and NPD launches

Benchmark best practice using market research and trade data

Build strong internal and external relationships to maximise business opportunities
What you’ll bring
You are organised, analytical and confident working with data, while also comfortable communicating insights to internal teams and customers. In addition, you bring strong Excel skills, a proactive mindset and the ability to prioritise effectively in a dynamic environment.
Experience in a commercial, market insight or analytical role is beneficial but not essential. Similarly, experience using tools such as Kantar, Nielsen or retailer EPOS systems is advantageous but not required, as training can be provided.
