 Kepak St. Merryn in Merthyr Tydfil has combined beef and lamb processing and packing facilities. We offer beef and lamb products ranging from retail ready cuts for butchers’ counters to branded packaged meat, all as part of our service; raised on open pastures, sourced from local farmers and hand-selected by our master butchers, we produce beef and lamb products with integrity and unmatched quality assurance.

We are currently recruiting for a Departmental Trainer for our Lamb Boning Department. This is a permanent full time position working with our new members of the team, taking them through their 12 week training schedule.

Requirements

The Trainer will collaborate closely with the production team and the Site Training Coordinator to deliver a well-structured and dynamic training and development experience across the site. They will oversee the completion of the departmental training matrix, ensuring it is up-to-date and comprehensive. Additionally, the Trainer will welcome new team members into the Lamb Boning department, guiding them through an engaging 12-week program and supporting them as they complete a Butchery Apprenticeship.

 

Requirements

  • To support new employees from induction, through the completion of the 12-week departmental training program and apprenticeship and onto the ongoing development of their skills.
  • To ensure standard operating procedures (SOPs) are created for all departmental tasks and to regularly review their effectiveness.
  • To continually look to improve ways of working and processes throughout the department
  • Maintain and update the departmental skills training matrix.
  • Identify skills gaps within the department and deliver training to close them.
  • Support the delivery of compliance training and compliance refresher training
  • Ensure that all training activities support and promote the health & safety culture on site
  • Support training in other departments, where necessary.
