ABP UK is recruiting a Factory Trainer to support the ongoing training and development of production operatives across the site. Based within a chilled factory environment, this role is central to ensuring high standards in quality, food safety, health & safety, traceability, and compliance.
You’ll work closely with operational, technical, and HSE teams to ensure staff are trained, competent, and confident across all production areas, from Goods In through to Despatch.
Key Responsibilities
As Factory Trainer, you will:

Deliver hands-on training across all site functions, including Goods In, Production, Despatch, and Yard operations

Ensure operatives are trained, signed off, and compliant with company standards and customer specifications
-
Use training materials including SOPs, risk assessments, and toolbox talks
-
Support onboarding and induction of new starters, ensuring a positive start to employment
-
Act as an on-the-job mentor for new and existing employees
-
Maintain staff training records and site-wide skills matrices
-
Carry out job observations and refresher training as required
-
Support job rotation plans and multi-skilling initiatives
-
Develop and maintain work instructions and training materials
-
Assist with training for new equipment and capital projects
-
Support continuous improvement initiatives related to training delivery and standards

Work closely with the HSE & Training Manager and Operational Managers to meet training targets

Uphold the highest standards of personal conduct, hygiene, and professionalism
The Ideal Candidate
You will be:

Fluent in spoken and written English (essential for safety, traceability, and quality)

Numerate with good attention to detail
-
Highly organised with strong planning skills
-
An excellent communicator with strong presentation and facilitation skills
-
Experienced in food processing and packaging environments
-
Comfortable working in a chilled production environment
-
Flexible, adaptable, and quick to learn
-
Proactive in promoting health, safety, and quality standards
-
A strong team collaborator
Desirable skills and qualifications:

Food Hygiene Level 3 (or equivalent)
-
Competence using Microsoft Office applications
