Reporting to the Site Operations Manager, a vacancy has arisen for a Site Food Safety and Quality Manger to take responsibility for the Technical, Hygiene and Animal Welfare functions at Dunbia Cardington. The successful candidate will be part of the Senior Management Team (SMT) on site and responsible for customer, certification bodies, and legislative compliance.
Responsibilities
- Ownership and maintenance of site Food Safety and Quality Management Systems.
- Supporting all other site departments complying with customer, certification bodies, and legislative requirements.
- Reporting KPIs and site compliance to the SMT and Group as required.
- Liaising with the FSA and other enforcement authority representatives as necessary to ensure efficient operation of the business.
- Enhancing customer focus and ensuring that all requests, queries, complaints, etc. are dealt with appropriately.
- Verification of root cause analysis, effective corrective and preventative actions arising from any non-conformances raised by customers, competent authorities, internal or group audits.
- Developing and enhancing company policies, systems, and procedures to meet requirements of customers, certification bodies, legislation, company objectives, and industry ‘best practice’ etc.
- Regularly reviewing and reporting on cost effectiveness & identification of cost efficiencies within the Technical, Hygiene, and Stores teams when possible, without compromise to product safety, quality, or legality.
- Ensuring that staff have received the relevant training, including refresher training, appropriate for the role and tasks they perform within the Technical, Hygiene, Stores, and Animal Welfare functions.
Qualifications
- Technical Management experience is an advantage.
- Must have experience of working in a Technical capacity, preferably within the meat industry.
- Should have a science-based degree or equivalent relevant training and experience.
- The successful candidate will have a strong focus on results and strong people management skills.
- Excellent organisational skills with ability to plan workloads effectively to meet deadlines.
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
