Hilton Foods is looking for a QC Primal Quality to identify and report issues between HFUK Production & Primary Process Manager and supply base, regarding issues with primal against Food Connected specifications.
As a QC Primal Quality some of the responsibilities will be to:
– Ensuring primals are within agreed Food Connected specifications.
– Correctly identify specification issues online and inform Primary Process Manager and/or Primary Process Team Manager. Check with the Planning/Trading Team if rejecting will cause shortage issues.
– To record and process intake rejections, scan rejections to the correct D.O and put the rejections onto the correct supplier pallets.
– To handle intake Temperature rejections, inform the relevant departments with the information needed, record rejection on Food Connected
– To record and report back any issues found with primals, so charges are correct to prevent losses on primals and VL’s.
– To follow up with supply sites regarding quality/primal issues of primal after agreed correction dates to ensure spec adhesion.
– Perform yield validations and understand what components are important to make a yield.
– Identify areas for yield/waste improvements and feedback to PP/Yield Manager
– Monitor lines for issues with quality and process issues and feedback correct information to management/line leaders and team members.
– Give feedback on Butcher issues to butchery trainer and supply sites to improve yield and to develop skills and knowledge.
– Communicate issues to management both verbally and written with clear and accurate detail.
– Operate and understand systems used within production (primal sequencer/FOPS6&8).
– Report issues on new processes and understand any machinery involved in these processes.
– Any other duties as may reasonably be required.

– Use appropriate protective clothing, safety equipment and safety devices always.
– Report all accidents/injuries and near misses immediately.
– Follow all instructions given by any person with a responsibility for health and safety.
– Always keep your place of work in a clean and tidy condition.
– Report all hazards / non-conformances / substandard conditions as observed and make representations for improvements to the – Engineering Manager /Supervisor or safety representative.
To succeed as a QC Primal Quality, we ask that you have the following experience/expertise:
– Extensive process knowledge, start to finish, with ability to identify root cause.
– Understand accounts production yield sheets.
– Fops
– Understand giveaway.
– Able to identify what the trim is made up of and root cause, with ability to reduce.
– Good understanding of butchery knowledge and primal.
– Good communicator and relationship builder.
– Worked in a fast paced, pressured retail packing plant, with at least 2yrs experience.
– Previous butchery experience and can demonstrate yield improvements.
– Good English speaking/writing skills
– Highly self-motivated/good at managing their time.
– Meat/process knowledge
– Flexible working when required.
– Leaner methods of day-to-day processes
