Role Overview

We are looking for a dedicated Livestock Lairage Operative Okehampton to join our lairage team in West Devon. You will help manage cattle arrivals, ensure welfare, book stock accurately and work alongside a skilled team. Full training provided—no prior experience required.

Key Responsibilities

• Use computer systems to book in cattle arrivals and movements

• Handle and lead cattle with care, ensuring animal welfare

• Follow Standard Operating Procedures and hygiene protocols

• Maintain a fast-paced working environment to meet production needs

• Assist the manager and team to hit departmental targets

• Take part in call-out rota (flexible working required)

Qualifications & Skills

• Full UK Driving Licence & own transport preferred (rural location)

• Proactive, reliable, and team-orientated mindset

• Computer literate with basic skills

• Comfortable working around livestock

• Ability to stay organised and meet deadlines

• Flexibility with shift patterns and hours

Shift Pattern & Working Hours

• After training: alternating weeks

  • Week 1: Monday – Friday

  • Week 2: Monday – Thursday & Sunday

• Some flexibility expected for call-outs or shift adjustments
