Role overview

We are currently looking for a Machine Setter to work in our busy Engineering Department within our Abbatoir. This is a full time, permanent position on Nights. Sunday – Thursday 8pm – 7:15am.

Key responsibilities

• Assembling Packaging / Sealing Machine

• Assembling Metal detectors and checkweighers

• Assembling Vacuum sealing equipment

• Assembling the Vemags / and Grinding Equipment

• Changeovers of machines for operations

• Management of the storage area, cleaning, checking and sorting of the Combicut blades.

• Minimise potential issues cause by metal contamination.

What you’ll bring

To maintain Health & Safety rules and regulations. To identify potential hazards/risks to the Health & Safety Manager/responsible person upon discovery. To ensure all PPM schedules are completed and reported back to your assigned supervisory engineer.. To assist the Engineering department in achieving its budget targets through the efficient use of materials and replacement parts.

Pay, hours and location

This is a Full-time role based in Merthyr Tydfil. Pay rates and shift patterns are confirmed at application or shortlist stage and may vary depending on department and production requirements.
