We have an exciting opportunity for a Management Accountant to join our office-based Finance Team at our Spalding Site
Reporting to the Site Accountant, as a Management Accountant, you will be responsible for supporting the accounting and financial control over the company’s SG&A cost base, including weekly and monthly reporting, budgeting, and forecasting. Additionally, the role will support central financial control and compliance activities covering the wider business, including GRNI management and SOX compliance.
This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure timely and effective financial control throughout the business.
You will be responsible for and required to undertake the following duties:
Assist in the preparation of month end files
Analyse data, investigating & reporting on anomalies
Involved in budgeting & reforecasting process
Business Partner to central budget holders
Prepare monthly journals
Support in checking Site monthly submissions are SOX compliant
Support central monitoring and validation of site level controls
Complete detailed balance sheet reconciliations
Oversee annual asset verification process
Investigate central GRNI liaising with stakeholders to close out
Support in the role out any initiatives to the sites
Follow lean thinking principles and make suggestions for improvement so that better ways of doing jobs are identified and implemented.
Apply problem solving techniques to resolve problems and recommend improvements to maintain costs at a planned level
Provide an excellent customer service by building strong relationships at all levels of the business
Continually developing own skills through attending Company training
To communicate at all levels sharing information, knowledge, instructions, advice, support and understanding
Assume overall responsibility for the safety of self, whilst at work ensuring that all requirements as trained and laid down within the Company handbook, Company Health and Safety and Hygiene policies are adhered to
To carry out other duties that may reasonably be requested of you to ensure the efficient running of the business
Knowledge, Skills, Experience:
Good communication skills
Strong grasp of basic accounting concepts and financial control
Health and Safety Awareness
Food Safety Awareness
Experience with accounting software, ideally SAP
Strong Excel Skills
Experience/Qualifications
AAT qualified and studying towards further professional qualification such as SEMA
Advanced excel skills with experience of financial modelling
Experience of operating in a business partner model, working with others to create positive business outcomes
Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage with all levels of business stakeholders in the translation and understanding of financial information
Able to work independently
Good attention to detail, approachable, with experience of coaching others
