We’re looking for experienced and enthusiastic butchers to join the Market Street team at Morrisons, Basingstoke. Whether you’ve gained your skills behind a traditional butcher’s counter or in a professional kitchen, this is a fantastic opportunity to showcase your craft and customer service with one of the UK’s most respected supermarket brands.

As a Market Street Butcher, you’ll prepare fresh, quality meat, maintain attractive displays, and deliver exceptional service to customers in-store and online.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and cut meat primals to company specifications (steaking, dicing, mincing, boning, flavouring, and wrapping).
Maintain high-quality, attractive displays throughout the trading day.
Ensure product availability and accurate labelling of both fresh and pre-packed meat.
Deliver friendly and helpful customer service, going above and beyond to meet expectations.
Operate knives, saws, mincers, and related equipment safely and efficiently.
Follow all Health & Safety, Hygiene, and Food Safety standards.
Work flexibly across other Market Street counters to support the wider team.

About You

Previous butchery or knife-handling experience (essential).
Skilled in boning, cutting, trimming, and flavouring meat.
Friendly, approachable, and passionate about providing great customer service.
Physically fit and able to work in a busy environment.
Team player with a proactive, can-do attitude.
Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
