Hours: 3 on / 3 off shift pattern | 6.00 am – 6.30 pm

At Kepak St. Merryn, Merthyr Tydfil, our combined beef and lamb facilities produce premium, pasture-raised products sourced from local farmers and hand-selected by master butchers. We’re now recruiting experienced Process Leads to join our busy Offal Department.

This is a permanent, full-time position offering stability, career progression, and the opportunity to work with one of the UK’s most respected meat processors.


The Role

You’ll support the Team Leader to achieve optimum line output, focusing on efficiency, product quality, and safety performance. Using your specialist process knowledge, you’ll help drive operational improvements and develop team capability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote a safety-first culture by identifying and addressing potential hazards.

  • Maintain compliance with all Health & Safety procedures during equipment setup and operation.

  • Support investigations of accidents or near misses and share learnings.

  • Uphold customer and company quality standards, ensuring “right-first-time” production.

  • Assist with internal and external audits, implementing corrective actions as required.

  • Coach operators to improve performance and understanding of line equipment.

  • Reduce downtime and waste through proactive problem-solving and process optimisation.

  • Complete production documentation accurately and on time.

  • Significant experience in food manufacturing or meat processing.

  • Understanding of yield, waste, and efficiency costs.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

  • Excellent communication and motivational skills.

Desirable:

  • Foundation Level HACCP, Food Safety, or Health & Safety qualifications.
