Hours: Monday–Friday, 05:30–14:30

This is a hands-on management role for an experienced production leader or food manufacturing manager with a passion for people development. As a result, you will take ownership of the butchery department and play a key role in shaping its future.

The Role

As Production (Butchery) Manager, you will lead the day-to-day operation of the butchery department. You will work closely with supportive teams across the site to ensure production runs safely, efficiently, and to plan.

In addition, you will take ownership of the full butchery production plan, from start to finish. At the same time, you will champion a positive, people-first culture, supporting training and development through the new Butchery Academy.

Because this role is central to site performance, strong organisation, leadership, and communication are essential.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

• Work collaboratively with teams across the site

• Ensure products are produced to high quality standards and on plan

• Own and deliver the butchery production plan end to end

• Maintain accurate documentation to support smooth department operations

• Lead, motivate, and develop your team to reach their full potential

• Manage labour and resources efficiently and cost-effectively

• Identify opportunities to improve processes, safety, and performance

• Train and support butchery colleagues using a positive, people-first approach

• Represent the department during customer and supplier visits

As a result, your leadership will directly support quality, efficiency, and long-term team development.

The Ideal Candidate

You will be confident, organised, and people-focused, with the ability to lead in a busy factory environment.

Importantly, you will bring:

• Strong communication and leadership skills

• Experience managing teams within food production

• Excellent planning and organisational ability

• Confidence influencing and collaborating at all levels

• A supportive approach to training and developing others

Your Background

You will have:

• Experience in food production management (essential)

• Butchery skills or meat processing experience (preferred but not essential)

However, a genuine passion for people development and continuous improvement is just as important as technical background.
